Hackathon FAQ

A team coding contest designed to challenge students to collaborate, build, and present in less than 24 hours.
All active students are encouraged to attend, regardless of major.
No. All skill types and experiences are welcome! While we encourage the use of technology (code, graphic design, etc.) you do not need to be a developer/programmer to participate. Teams require all skills!
No. You can form your own team before the hackathon (ensure that all members are registered) or become a member of a team at the hackathon.
No code/design/etc. can be completed prior to the start of the hackathon.
Yes. Limited lab space is available to participants on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Laptops, chargers, sleeping bags, blankets/pillows are welcome. NO inflatable mattresses, tents, or small appliances. You are expected to follow the Broward College code of conduct while at the event.
Yes. Registered participants will receive the following meals:
  • Friday October 25, 2019 - Lunch, Dinner
  • Saturday October 26, 2019 - Breakfast, Lunch
No, but it is advisable to plan being at the hackathon from start to finish in order to get more done during the event and not spend time travelling that could be spent hacking.
